Worlds Without End series: Inner Space

As with A Blue Moon Rose, Inner Space was made on an 8-inch round canvas using Payne’s gray, sky blue, dark pthalo blue, a deep maroon I created with dioxazine purple and red, as well as gold, silver and pearl white. Where A Blue Moon Rose makes me imagine early Earth, Inner Space reminds me that outer Space is not the only frontier we explore. This painting makes me think of sample of tissue being viewed on a slide under a microscope. Medicine and judicial science are still a young sciences. Although we have learned so much in recent centuries, we have yet to be able to see the vastness of space between atoms and often in medicine we blunder about until we stumble over a treatment for a disease we weren’t even looking for. This would make a wonderful gift for a budding scientist, or a wannabe doctor or nurse.
