This 12x16 inch painting was an attempt at combining metallics using the Bloom Technique. Again, the combination of several metallic paints did not produce much in the way cells and/or lacing, except a few cells that developed on the edges of the white background.
The paints I used were DecoArt Berry, Silver, 24-Carat Gold, Green-Gold, and Fire Opal, on a background of Bright White Color Place Interior Semi-Gloss house paint.
Fire Opal was a new paint I had not seen before and since I absolutely LOVE opals of all kinds and colors, I decided to try it here. Since I got it, I have really enjoyed playing with it. On this particular painting I layered it between the 24-Carat Gold and the Green-Gold. I have used the 2 Golds and the Berry in a variety of projects and they always gave me color combinations I loved. This time, the Fire Opal mixed beautifully with them, but what really surprised me were the few accents of orange in this piece. In addition, the painting was laced with a lot of gorgeous pinkish coral color that just GLOWS! I absolutely LOVED the result! I hope you will too.
