Go with the Flow: Dutch pour on 16”x20”x1” canvas

This painting was a Dutch pour on a 16”x20” canvas that I initially started with a black base. I laid down a line of Nicpro Pearl White paint, then one each of Nicpro Pearl Blue, DecoArt Extreme Sheen Berry, and DecoArt Metallics 24-Carat Gold. Obviously the white mixed with the black base to create the varying shades of grey. The gold spread throughout the painting and small gold sparkles covered a number of none gold colors, including the grey. The blue maintained its intensity but the berry seems to have lost the darker shades of its color and appears to show up as a bright coral pink. My initial thought upon looking at the finished picture was that I was looking at an old tree and I was tempted to name it Yggdrasil, after the Great Tree of the Viking world concept. But after studying it for a while, I was more fascinated in the way the paint flowed throughout the image.
