Composed of the colors of Peacock Pearl, Metallic Cobalt Blue (by Artist Loft), lavender, Rose Gold, Copper, Nicpro Pearl White and 24-Carat Gold, all by DecoArt except as listed, this painting was a second attempt at the Bloom Technique and was a total failure at that effort. All of the paints chosen were either pearlized or metallics, and were mixed with American Floetrol as a pouring medium, with the exception of the Nicpro Pearl White, which was mixed with Australian Floetrol with the intention of it being the primary cell activator. Nicpro paints are not easily converted to cell activators unless silicone oil is added to it. Sadly, silicone oil often creates a slimy mess on a painting that is difficult to clean.
Needless to say, I was trying to avoid using silicone oil in the process; and found that the Australian Floetrol added to the white paint did a great job in forming them. This particular painting did develop a lot of cells, many of which beautifully captured the colors of each of the others hmm paints. The cells are filled with gold, rose gold, Peacock Pearl, copper, and cobalt blue. Many of the cells really grew huge when I spun it and the paint stretched the cells. I was very pleased with the final result, although there weren’t as many small cells left after the spin.
